Chinese manufacturer Huawei has just sent out invitations to an event that will be held on December 16. At this event, they will most likely reveal the first ‘true’ eight core smartphone ever made. Huawei calls this device Honor 4, a device that might also be sold as ‘Glory 4’ in some markets.
The reason why Honor 4 is viewed as the first actual eight core smartphones, is because of its eight 1.7 GHz cores that are designed to work simultaneously in order to run multiple tasks. Other attempts at an eight core device like the Exynos 5 from Samsung cannot run all of their cores at the same time.
Honor 4 will also come equipped with a 5.5 inch 1280 x 720 screen, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, a 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP frontal camera, and an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. It will be interesting to see how well Huawei’s creation does worldwide, especially if they are serious about it being capable of running all of its eight cores at the same time.
